Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to conclude on August 30 in New Delhi 


Villagers and city dwellers will join many programs like Shilapalakam, Panchpran, Vasudha Vandan and Mitti Yatra

Under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign, various programs will be organized in all the districts of the state from urban areas to gram panchayat level. The campaign will start from 9th August and will run till 30th August. For this, all necessary preparations have been made by the Culture Department. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development, Home, Forest and Climate Change, School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, Urban Administration, and Development, Public Relations Department and Sports and Youth Welfare Department, by the Ministry of Culture Department. A circular has been issued to the Resident Commissioner, Chhattisgarh Bhavan, New Delhi and all the State Collectors including Secretary, Special Secretary. Shilapalakam (stone plaque) will be established during the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign at the Gram Panchayat level. In which tribute will be paid to the heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the country. 

     It is worth mentioning that on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the country’s independence, as per the instructions of the Central and State Government, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence is being celebrated all over the country. This program, which has been going on for the last two years, will conclude on August 30 in New Delhi in the form of Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign. 

    The main objective of the program is to honor the heroes associated with the freedom struggle, who sacrificed their present for our future. In honor of these heroes, the heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the country are to be honored by collecting soil from all the panchayats of the state and constructing a memorial and an Amrit Vatika for the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence in Delhi. The program will be mainly in two parts, in which the first Panchayat level program and the second soil journey which will be from Panchayat to Janpad Panchayat and Delhi.

    Under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign, it will be held in Panchayat and Urban body areas in all the districts of the state from August 9 to 15. From August 12 to 20, a memorial will be constructed at the district level and from August 21 to 26, on the duty path, similarly, on August 27 to 28, the youth team will reach Delhi and on August 29 to 30, the Prime Minister will organize the last program on the duty path. While planting saplings in Amrit Vatika, the Amrit Mahotsav souvenir of Independence will be dedicated to the nation. 

    Those who sacrificed their lives, their names will remain in this Shilapalkam. This Shilapalakam will be inaugurated in the month of August from 9 to 15 August 2023 in each gram panchayat. The national anthem will be sung after flag hoisting in the program and the message given by the Prime Minister will be mentioned in it. Shilapalakam will be established near the Amrit Sarovar built under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme and in the Gram Panchayats which do not have Amrit Sarovar, it will be done in Panchayat Bhawan or School buildings. Similarly, Oath of Panchpran and Selfie program will be organized in every Gram Panchayat. The participants in the program will take the oath of Panchpran by taking a handful of soil or earthen lamp in their hand. During this, Vasudha Vandan program will also be organized. In which sustainable plants will be planted by the Gram Panchayat. This plantation will be done in every gram panchayat on the occasion of 75 years of independence. For the tree plantation program, the Forest Department and Horticulture Department will arrange plants through nurseries.

    At the time of the program in each panchayat, the families of freedom fighters and heroes will be honored according to the local tradition. There will be salutations to the heroes along with Vasudha Vandan. During this flag hoisting and national anthem will be sung. Soil from each village will be collected in Kalash at Janpad Panchayat level through Mitti Yatra youth volunteers, which will be brought to the final program in Delhi Mitti Kalash along with 7500 youth from across the country. On the closing occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on August 30, Prime Minister will dedicate the Amrit Mahotsav souvenir to the nation along with planting saplings in the Amrit Vatika on the duty path.
