Raipur 9 October 2020 The corona infection has added to the importance of Mental Health Awareness Day observed on 10 October every year all over the world. Today everyone is worried about the disease of Kovid 19 and its associated problems. We all get upset due to general concern about the illness or news of loved ones getting sick. But if this worry affects our daily routine then we need mental counseling, we should understand this.
Dr. Manoj Sahu, Psychiatrist of Raipur, Head of Department, Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Raipur, says that if a person is becoming more irritable in the present circumstances which is affecting his daily activities or relationships or even a child or adolescent. Being more aggressive, mental counseling is necessary in this situation. Dr. Sahu believes that mental illness is like other diseases, so do not hesitate to tell it or seek advice from a psychiatrist.
Regular tele counseling of patients admitted in the state’s Covid Care Centers, Hospitals is being done by a team of Medical Colleges under the leadership of Dr. Sahu. Counseling is given to the patients three times during the entire period, at the time of recruitment, then three days later and finally when the patient is discharged. Regular tele counseling is being done from 8 am to 8 pm through the telemedicine hub set up in the medical college. Through this, more than 400 patients have been counseled so far.
