Health and Medical Education Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev took a meeting of the Autonomous Committee of Government Medical College located in Jagdalpur and Kanker at Jagdalpur Medical College today. A detailed discussion was held on the proposals of the Autonomous Committee of both the Medical Colleges in the meeting. During this, discussions were held on various arrangements and resources including budget proposal, construction works, recruitment of doctors and professors, construction of residential complex and hostel and construction of college building. Secretary, Medical Education Department, Mr. Prasanna R. And Director Dr. Vishnu Dutt also attended the meeting.

Medical Education Minister Shri Singhdev instructed to send a proposal for the budget after discussing the subjects proposed by the Dean of Kanker Medical College. He asked to prepare an action plan to get the Medical College building inaugurated by the Chief Minister. In the meeting, discussions were also held regarding the recruitment of doctors for the hospital affiliated to the medical college through campus selection, availability of medicines and other necessary resources.

In the meeting of the Autonomous Committee of Jagdalpur Medical College, Mr. Singhdev asked to take cooperation of NIT Raipur for the construction of lecture hall and examination center as per the criteria of National Medical Commission. In the meeting, discussions were also held regarding the proposed badminton court, sports complex and increase in the salary of teachers working on contract by the committee. Shri Singhdev stressed on increasing the number of teachers in the college. He directed the Public Works Department officer to improve the drainage system of the Medical College Hospital. He asked to use the budget received by the college for the development of permanent resources there. He also asked to use the amount of autonomous head for the purchase of machines for increasing the health services in the hospital.

Self-governing committee member Smt. Sadhna Tiwari requested the Medical Education Minister to increase the transport facility between the Medical College Hospital at Dimrapal and Jagdalpur city. On this, Mr. Singhdev directed the officers of the district administration to facilitate bus from Jagdalpur to Dimrapal on the basis of the route. He also instructed to operate a canteen by the self-help group for the convenience of food for the relatives of the patients in the hospital premises.
