Health and Medical Education Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev today took a meeting of the Autonomous Committee of Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Bilaspur-based Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College and Raigarh Government Medical College. A detailed discussion was held on the proposals of Medical Colleges in the separate meeting of the Autonomous Committee of the three Medical Colleges held at the residence office of Medical Education Minister Shri Singhdev at Civil Line, Raipur.

Mr. Singhdev instructed to organize the meeting of the Autonomous Committee of all Medical Colleges every three months. In the meeting of the Autonomous Committee of Bilaspur, Durg and Raigarh Medical College held today, various arrangements and resources were discussed including the budget proposal, construction works, recruitment of doctors and professors of the three colleges. Secretary Medical Education Department Mr. Prasanna R., Commissioner Mrs. Namrata Gandhi, Director Dr. Vishnu Dutt and Managing Director CGMSC Mr. Chandrakant Verma also attended the meeting. Deans and Medical Superintendents of all the three colleges were also present in the meeting.

In the meeting of the Autonomous Committee of Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College, approval was given to organize a six-day annual festival from March 17 to March 22 next month. Five lakh rupees were sanctioned for this. Approval was also given to buy five laptops for teaching in the lecture hall of the college. Four lakh rupees were sanctioned for this. In the meeting of the Self-Governing Committee, consent was given to upgrade and beautify the garden of the boys’ hostel and intern hostel of the college under the CSR head. For the convenience of the patients, the Commissioner of Durg Division and the Collector of Durg assured to provide one ambulance each to the college. The consent was also given by the state government to provide the hearse.

In the meeting of the autonomous committee of Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur, in view of the shortage of staff nurses in the college, the proposal of keeping 100 nurses on collector rate was approved by the autonomous committee. In the meeting, Medical Education Minister Mr. Singhdev directed the medical college to send a proposal for construction of 950-bed hospital and college building in the land available at Sarkanda (Koni) in view of space crunch in the present medical college campus. In the meeting, approval was also given to appoint CA for audit of accounts of autonomous heads and purchase of biometric machine.
