Raipur, 04 June 2021.Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain has directed all departments to make coordinated efforts for overall development of Dantewada district and to make the people there financially self-reliant and self-reliant. He said that according to the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the officers of all departments should work in coordination with each other with full sensitivity to make the families living below poverty line financially viable and empowered. Chief Secretary Jain was reviewing the development works in Dantewada district through video conferencing from Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today.
While reviewing various development works in Dantewada district, Chief Secretary Jain said that in order to connect the economically weaker families with employment in Dantewada district, all the departments should jointly prepare an action plan and set annual targets. The Chief Secretary said that more and more groups of women should be formed and work should be done to connect them with economic activities. He said that the materials prepared by self-help groups should be used in hostels, ashrams and police camps, so that the members of the group get employment. Similarly, under the nutrition campaign, hot food should be made available to pregnant and lactating mothers. He directed to convert the Gauthans into livelihood centers and conduct employment tests there.
The Chief Secretary directed the forest rights lease holders to benefit from the beneficiary oriented scheme of the government and encourage the farmers to cultivate horticulture crops by providing irrigation facilities through small and micro irrigation schemes. He has also directed senior officers of other departments including Agriculture, Health, Women and Child Development to visit Dantewada district to see the ground reality of departmental works.
Dantewada Collector informed that about 150 families are getting employment through Nava Dantewada Garment Factory under Poona Madakal Dantewada (Gadbo Nava Dantewada) program. Similarly, 240 families from construction of vermi compost in Gauthans, 2368 families from Danteshwari Mart and other works to women’s group, 121 families from village self-employment center, 264 families from Kadaknath Poultry, 10 families from Nava Chetna Yojna Bakery District Dantewada, Danteshwari Mai Mitan 105 families from pension scheme, 2620 families from Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan, Denex FPO. From 4158 families, 406 families have been connected with bamboo tree guard construction, 2500 families from forest produce collection and processing and 62 families from self-employment with tourism.
