Campaign to free Chhattisgarh from child marriage will be launched

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Mahtari Vandan Sammelan will be organized in all the district headquarters, block headquarters and urban body areas along with the state capital Raipur on March 10. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address the people by directly connecting virtually with the programs organized at the state headquarters, district headquarters, block headquarters and urban bodies and will talk to the beneficiaries. On this occasion, under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, DBT was deposited in the accounts of more than 70 lakh women of the state. The first installment will be transferred through. With this, Rs 1000 will come into the women’s account every month.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will attend the main program organized at the Science College grounds of the capital Raipur at 1 pm. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai will visit stalls based on women self-help groups and departmental activities. In the conference, Chief Minister Shri Sai will also launch the campaign to free Chhattisgarh from child marriage. On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade and other public representatives will also be present.
It is noteworthy that in fulfillment of the guarantee given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the people of the state, the state government has implemented the new Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the state from March 01, 2024. Under the scheme, monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 each will be given to eligible married women above 21 years of age. In this way women will get Rs 12 thousand annually. Under the scheme, assistance will be given for the first time on March 10. More than 70 lakh women will benefit from this.
Women and Child Development Department has been made the nodal department for the implementation of Mahtari Vandan Yojana. In the conference, along with organizing cultural programs based on departmental activities, stalls will also be set up for the sale of materials produced by women self-help groups. Besides, information about departmental schemes will also be given. In the program organized at the district level, a pledge will also be taken to make Chhattisgarh free from child marriage.
