The President said that India’s Chandrayaan made a successful landing on the surface of the Moon. Sincerely worked on this for years. Obstacles kept coming in the way but we did not stop. This happens in personal life as well. Keep working hard with continuous efficiency, never get discouraged by immediate success, challenges come in our life and also bring new opportunities. It is notable that the President awarded degrees to 2946 students on this occasion. Starting his address with Jai Johar, the President said in his address that today our tricolor has reached the moon. It is a matter of historical achievement. How did the scientists achieve this feat? In this regard, events should be organized in the university so that scientific attitude i.e. scientific temper can be created in the society. It is included in the fundamental duties of the constitution. I am happy that this university has modern laboratories. Accelerator based research center has also been established here. This university should make its mark in the world through its research. The countries which are ahead in adopting science and technology will progress more. In our space mission we faced some non-cooperation from the world, yet we persevered forward.
The President said that this university is important because it is named after Guru Ghasidas. He gave a similar message to each other. Guru Ghasidas gave the message of equality. Only by following the ideals of equality can the youth walk on the path of happiness and build a civilized society.
On this occasion, the President also remembered Swami Vivekananda. He said that the airport of Raipur is named after Swami Vivekananda. Along with physical health, he also gave importance to sports. Swamiji was an idol of self-confidence. Swamiji had proclaimed the superiority of Indian culture to the world in Chicago. At that time the mentality of slavery was at its peak in India. The people of Asia were suffering from the feeling of inferiority. In such an environment, Vivekananda raised the name of India. The young generation should take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda.
The President said that he is happy that out of 76 students who received gold medals, 45 are girl students, which is about 60 percent of the total number. 47 percent girls are studying in the university. This is a big step towards women empowerment. Half of the country’s population is women. By empowering them the country will become stronger.
He said that there is a large tribal community in the area around the university. One-third of the state’s population is tribal. Topics like sensitivity towards tribal community and women’s participation are very important. Good work is being done by the university in this regard.
