Raipur, 11 September 2021. With the aim of promoting organic farming in the state and reducing the dependence on chemical fertilizers and the cost of agriculture, farmers have now started using organic manure on a large scale. Under Godhan Nyay Yojana, farmers of the state have started using vermicompost and super compost manure made from cow dung purchased in Gauthans. So far more than 5 lakh 97 thousand 883 quintals of vermi compost and more than 1 lakh 42 thousand 981 quintals of super compost have been lifted by the farmers through cooperative societies.
It is worth mentioning here that under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, vermicompost and super compost manure is being manufactured on a large scale by purchasing cow dung at Rs.2 a kg in Gauthans. So far, more than 11 lakh 39 thousand 638 quintals of organic manure has been produced in Gauthans by women self-help groups, which includes 7 lakh 85 thousand 820 quintals of vermi compost and 3 lakh 50 thousand 818 quintals of super compost. Out of which 7 lakh 40 thousand 865 quintals of organic fertilizers have been sold.
