Best models of community toilets will be given under the state cleanliness award -2020, awards of one lakh, 1.25 lakh and 1.75 lakh rupees
Raipur. 20 September 2020. The last date for sending entries for the excellent drawing-design competition of community toilets under the State Sanitation Award-2020 has now been made to 25 September. The deadline has been extended by the State Clean India Mission (Gramin) to give more and more participants a chance to participate in this event. The last date for sending the first entry was set as 20 September.
The best models of community toilets costing Rs 3.5 lakh, Rs 4.5 lakh and Rs 5.50 lakh will be given cash awards of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh respectively under the State Sanitation Award-2020 by the Mission. Any architect or engineer of the country can participate in this competition. Registration, terms and conditions for the competition can be seen on the mission’s website www.sbmgcg.in.
The winning participants will be given prizes on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. To participate in the competition, direct entry can be made on the website of the State Clean India Mission (Gramin) at www.sbmgcg.in. Applications can also be submitted by e-mail ID of the Mission Office at [email protected] or by post or by yourself at the State Mission Office, Neer Bhawan, Civil Lines, Raipur.
Officials of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) said that under the first phase of the mission (October-2014 to March-2020), rural areas have been declared open defecation free. The need for community toilets in public places is being felt to maintain open defecation. There is a goal of constructing community toilets in the state that are comfortable and convenient for people of all classes and communities. Separate toilets, urinals and hand washing facilities will be ensured in these community toilets, including third gender persons with disabilities, women and men.
In rural areas, community toilets will be built in Haat-bazaars, bus-stands, religious places, banks of ponds, banks of highways and in the habitations of scheduled castes and tribes. Drawing and design of inclusive community toilets are being invited under the State Cleanliness Award-2020. Drawing and design of community toilets costing three and a half lakh rupees, four and a half lakh rupees and five and a half lakh rupees have been invited from the participants.
The best model of community toilets will be selected in two phases. In the first phase, the participants must first apply online with drawing and design. In this, each of the five best models selected will be given an amount of five thousand rupees. The winners of the first phase will have to present the 3D model (3-D model) along with the presentation of the proposed drawing and design in the second phase. In the second phase, the best drawing and design will be selected by the nominated jury.
