Revised approval of works worth Rs 38.60 crore

The meeting of the Governing Council of the District Mineral Institute Trust was held today in the meeting room located on the first floor of the District Office. Revised approval of works worth Rs 38.60 crore was given in the meeting. Along with this, various development works were discussed.
Forest and Climate Change, Water Resources and Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said on this occasion that schemes should be made keeping in mind the needs, so that maximum number of people can benefit from it. He also stressed on maintaining transparency in the implementation of schemes. He stressed on working for the development of youth along with creation of necessary infrastructure in left wing extremism affected areas. He said that along with carrying out development work keeping the youth at the centre, there is also a need to lay emphasis on establishing continuous dialogue. Describing the youth living in the interior areas as talented, he said that more and more sports and cultural events should be organized to hone their talent. He also stressed on doing more work for the preservation of tribal culture and organizing fairs and markets at the Pargana level as well as providing necessary support for the manufacturing of Devgudis. He also stressed on promoting the use of agricultural equipment keeping in mind the goal of agricultural modernization of the Chhattisgarh government. He stressed on working to supply clean drinking water to the people in areas with iron laden water. Along with this, he also talked about providing irrigation facilities to the farmers by electrifying the river banks.
    On this occasion, Kondagaon MLA Ms. Lata Usendi said that Kondagaon district is full of tourism potential. Employment creation can be done by developing tourism related facilities here. He said that there is immense potential for tourism in various sectors including eco tourism, forest tourism, crafts etc. He said that Bastar holds an important place in the state from the point of view of tourism and in this context the movement of tourists from the district can be increased. During this time, he stressed on immediate repair of dilapidated schools, demolition of very dilapidated schools and systematic provision of basic facilities like drinking water, toilets etc. in ashrams and hostels. He also expressed the need to take initiative for re-operation of city buses.    
Keshkal MLA Shri Neelkanth Tekam said that Chhattisgarh government has set a target of doubling the gross domestic product and there is a need to work harder to achieve this target. He said that there is a need to give priority to the development of the natives here, proper utilization of their talents, employment to the youth etc.
        During this, Collector and Chairman of District Mineral Institute Trust Shri Kunal Dudawat said that 61 works worth Rs 55.10 crore were approved in the district in 2023-24. Today this meeting is being organized for revised approval of works worth Rs 38.60 crore. He also informed about the work being done regarding the maintenance of the city scan machine in the district hospital.
