Raipur, 24 July 2021. Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey took a joint meeting of the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department and reviewed the status of implementation of departmental schemes and programs at Mahanadi Mantralaya Bhawan here today. Minister Shri Choubey instructed the departmental officers to keep a strict vigil on the quality, distribution and rate of fertilizers and seeds. He also directed the officers to regularly monitor the price and arrangement of sale of chemical fertilizers by private shopkeepers and take strict action if any irregularities are found.
Minister Shri Choubey said that special care should be taken to ensure that farmers do not face any problem regarding seeds and fertilizers in the state and arrangements for supply of seeds and fertilizers should be ensured in the committees.
Minister Shri Choubey, while reviewing the plans and programs of the Horticulture Department, instructed the departmental officers to plant palm trees on a large scale in the identified areas with the aim of ensuring effective implementation of the Bari Development Program in the state and promoting the production of palm oil. Also instructed to leave. In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, he asked the officers to compulsorily plant Napier grass and sow green fodder under pasture development by July 30 in all the Gothanas. In the meeting, Minister Shri Choubey also instructed the officers to give guidance and encouragement to all the farmers identified for cultivation of other Kharif crops instead of paddy under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. He said that it is the responsibility of the departmental officers to ensure that high quality seeds are available to the farmers.
To promote milk production in the state, Minister Shri Choubey directed to set targets for every district and make arrangements for sale of milk in coordination with Devbhog Cooperative Society. Agriculture Production Commissioner and Secretary of the Department Dr. M. Geeta, Special Secretary Agriculture Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Director Agriculture Mr. Yashwant Kumar, Director Animal Husbandry and Horticulture Mr. Matheswaran V, Director Fisheries Mr. V.K. Senior officers of the department and district level officers of the concerned departments of all the districts of Raipur division were present.
