By relaxing the rules, the operation was done with the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme                                                                                                                                              The sensitivity of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was once again visible after coming to know about the illness of nine-year-old girl Sunanda (name changed) without parents of special backward Kamar tribe living in Balika Grih. Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia had written a letter to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel requesting for the treatment of nine-year-old girl Sunanda, who was suffering from serious heart ailments, living in Government Girls Home, Raipur. On this, the Chief Minister Shri Baghel, considering it as a special case, relaxed the rules and approved Rs.03 lakh 86 thousand from the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme. On June 4, Sunanda was successfully operated under the direction of Dr. Nitin Kashyap, Cardiac Surgeon of AIIMS Raipur. Sunanda has got a new life due to everyone’s efforts.
After recovering after treatment, Sunanda reached Mrs. Bhendia’s house to express her gratitude on Tuesday. Smt. Bhendia wished Sunanda for a healthy and bright future. When asked by Mrs. Bhendia, she expressed her desire to become a teacher when she grew up. On this Mrs. Bhendia advised him to distribute knowledge free of cost to the poor and needy people.
District Program Officer Ms. Shail Thakur said that after getting Sunanda examined, doctors told her to be suffering from serious heart valve related disease and required operation (DVR with TV repair). Sunanda did not have any documents like ration card, aadhar card. She was also not coming under the purview of the schemes run for young children based on her age. The cost of operation and treatment was also high. In view of this, Minister Smt. Bhendia requested Chief Minister Mr. Baghel for Sunanda’s treatment. Today Sunanda is healthy and she is being taken care of under the guidance of doctors at Balika Grih.
Hostel superintendent Mrs. Ratna Dubey told that Sunanda was brought to the Girls’ Home of Raipur in August 2021 through the Child Welfare Committee of Gariaband. Sunanda has no parents. When Sunanda came home, she was very weak and had trouble breathing. His heartbeat was very fast. After getting examined by the doctor, it was found that Sunanda is severely anemic and has heart problems. Sunanda is fine after the operation and is recovering fast.life
