Demand to start international airline from Raipur

The judicial capital of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, was today connected with the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore by air connectivity. Justice Bilaspur got a big gift in the form of Bilaspur-Indore-Bilaspur new airline. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia virtual launched the Bilaspur-Indore-Bilaspur airline. Chief Minister Shri Baghel flagged off the flight from Bilasa Devi Kenwat Airport, Chakarbhanta Bilaspur from his residence office in capital Raipur and Union Minister Shri Scindia from New Delhi.

For expansion of Bilaspur airport
While congratulating the residents of Bilaspur and Indore on the occasion of the launch of the Bilaspur-Indore airline, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the state government is making all possible efforts for the expansion of air services. He said that air service should also be started from Bilaspur to other big cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore. Urging the Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia to start international air service from Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur and establish an International Cargo Hub here, he said that Raipur Airport has been prepared according to international standards. Raipur airport is now ready to handle international flights. The Chief Minister said that 461.20 acres of land has been provided free of cost by the State Government to the Airport Authority of India for Raipur Airport. on which the runway extends, It has been prepared according to international standard by constructing new terminal building, ATC tower. The pending demand of land for airport development, security related problems of airport complex have been resolved by the state government.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel also urged the Union Minister Shri Scindia to start air service for cities like Varanasi, Ranchi, Patna, Bhubaneshwar connecting Ambikapur to Bilaspur, Raipur under the Regional Connectivity Scheme.
Giving information about the efforts made by the State Government for the expansion of Bilaspur Airport, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that Bilaspur Airport has been upgraded to 3- C VFR category by the State Government. The first regular domestic air service was started by Alliance Air Company from Bilaspur on Delhi-Jabalpur-Bilaspur-Prayagraj airways on 01 March 2021 and regular air service from Bilaspur to Bhopal was also started from 05 June 2022.  
Mr. Baghel said that Rs.25 crore 10 lakh has been spent so far by the state government for the development of Bilaspur airport and making it functional. In view of the increasing number of airlines and passengers from the airport, approval is being given for the expansion of the capacity of the existing terminal building to the tune of 1 crore 90 lakhs. Approval is being issued for works costing Rs 22 crore to prepare Bilaspur airport as per 3- C IFR standard and to develop night landing facility here. For the installation of PBN navigation system for smooth operation of aircraft from the airport, the amount has been paid by the state government to Indian airports.
3- C VFR to Ambikapur Airport by the State Government Administrative approval has been issued for works worth Rs 48.00 crore for runway development and expansion, city side development works to develop category wise. Airport development work is going on at a fast pace, the target is to develop the airport and apply for its licensing by December 31, 2022.
The Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia presiding over the program said that the Central Government is ready to provide all possible help from the Center for the expansion of aviation services in Chhattisgarh. Congratulating and congratulating the residents of Bilaspur and Indore on the start of this new airline, he said that the demand for providing night landing facility at Bilaspur airport is justified, additional land would be required for the expansion of the runway of the airport. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said in this regard that 1000 acres of land adjoining Chakarbhata airport was given to the army by the state government, but due to non-utilisation, the state government is trying to take back the land. But land will be made available for the expansion of Chakarbhata airport. Shri Scindia said that both the cities of Bilaspur and Indore have great importance both economically and religiously.
Bilaspur-Indore-Bilaspur Air Service Four Days a Week
Bilaspur-Indore-Bilaspur Air Service will depart Bilaspur at 11.35 am on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, reach Indore at 1.25 pm and depart Indore at 1.55 pm. It will return to Bilaspur at 3.45 pm. Today left from Bilaspur to Indore, the first flight left with 50 passengers. The 72 seater aircraft is being operated by Alliance Air on this route.  
Water Resources Minister of Madhya Pradesh Government Shri Tulsi Silawat and MP Indore Shri Shankar Lalwani joined Indore. Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Rashmi Singh, MP Bilaspur Shri Arun Saw, MLA Shri Dharamlal Kaushik, Shri Shailesh Pandey, Mayor Shri Ramsharan Yadav, District Panchayat Bilaspur President Shri Arun Chauhan, Apex Bank Chairman Shri Baijnath Chandrakar, Tourism Board of Bilaspur President Shri Atal Shrivastava, President of District Co-operative Bank Bilaspur Shri Pramod Nayak, Chairman of Agricultural Produce Market Board Rajendra Shukla and many public representatives were present. Secretary Aviation Shri Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi and Director Aviation Shri N.N. Ekka was present.
