Raipur: Jatra Fair is an unbreakable link of Sargujiha culture: Amarjit Bhagat

Raipur, 13 February 2022.  Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat today inaugurated Jatra Mela at Bargidih in Lundra district of Surguja district. Minister Shri Bhagat said that Mela-Madai is the identity of the culture of Chhattisgarh. Similarly, Jatra fair is also the identity of Sargujiha culture. Jatra fair is a bus created from the Sargujiha culture. He said that apart from being a symbol of prosperity, Jatra Mela also gives the message of brotherhood among the people. In the fair, people not only buy the things they need, but also entertain and socialize with people from far and wide. Lundra MLA Dr. Pritam Ram, Food Commission Chairman Mr. Gurpreet Singh Babra were specially present on this occasion. 

Food Minister Shri Bhagat said that Chhattisgarh government is a farmer friendly government. A record 98 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured in the current Kharif season. The facilities of the farmers were taken care of in the paddy procurement centers. Despite the shortage of gunny bags, farmers were not allowed to face any problem in selling paddy. 

In the fair, a large number of public representatives including Food Minister Shri Bhagat, MLA Dr. Pritam Ram, Chairman of the Food Commission, Gurpreet Singh Babra, enjoyed the Tora swing. On this occasion, Batauli District Vice President Mr. Pradeep Gupta, District Member Mrs. Shakuntala, Councilor Mr. Deepak Mishra, Sarpanch Mr. Sanman Singh, District CEO Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Laxmi Gupta, Irfan Siddiqui, Nilay Tripathi and a large number of villagers were present.
