Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, pure drinking water is being supplied in the rural areas of the state. So far, 14 lakh 06 thousand 704 domestic tap connections have been installed in the state. According to the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, under the direction of Minister of Public Health Engineering Guru Rudra Kumar, work is being done expeditiously to complete the works of Jal Jeevan Mission in rural areas of the state in time-limit.
It is worth noting that a detailed review of the works of solar based, retrofitting, multi village and single village schemes is also going on from time to time by Jal Jeevan Mission Director Mr. Topeshwar Verma. He directed the officers to make arrangements for running water in schools, sub-health centers and Anganwadi centres, ISA training, wall writing, painting etc. to promote the works of Jal Jeevan Mission in a time bound manner. Along with this, instructions have also been given to ensure that all the progress works are entered in the IMIS portal.
It is noteworthy that in the budget of the financial year 2022-23, a provision of one thousand crore rupees has been made in the Jal Jeevan Mission. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, fast work is being done to provide pure drinking water at the rate of 55 liters per person per day. So far, pure drinking water is being supplied through tap taps in 43 thousand 837 schools, 41 thousand 653 Anganwadi centers and 17 thousand 251 gram panchayats and community sub-health centers in the state.
