Raipur: International Literacy Day: Chief Minister and School Education Minister will attend the state level webinar on 8th September

On the occasion of International Literacy Day, a state level webinar has been organized on 8th September at 12:00 noon. In this webinar, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, School Education Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Secretary of School Education Department Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Special Secretary and Director of State Literacy Mission Authority, Shri Rajesh Singh Rana and officials of State Literacy Mission Authority and State Literacy Center (SCERT) will be present.
In the webinar, all the District Education Officers of the state, Principals, DIET, District Project Officer, DMC of Samagra Shiksha, all Development Block Education Officers, Development Block Project Officers, BRC, CAC, CRC, all Principals, Head Readers, teachers, from school education and literacy All the associated resource persons, skilled trainers, volunteer teachers and learners of the state will be included.
To create an environment for Nav Bharat Literacy Program in the state, Literacy Week was organized from 01 September to 07 September. Director and Member Secretary, State Literacy Mission Authority, Shri Rajesh Singh Rana has advised all the District Collectors and District Education Officers to prepare a special strategy for this program of national importance, ensure active participation of all sections in it and to organize comprehensive activities every day as per the action plan. Instructions were given for dissemination. Shri Rana said that the objective of Literacy Week is to focus the attention of all sections towards the Nav Bharat Literacy Programme.
It is worth mentioning that the scheme focused on education for all, Ullas-New India Literacy Program has been approved by the Government of India for implementation during the financial year 2022 to 2027 in accordance with the National Education Policy-2020. The scheme has five components – Basic Literacy and Numeracy, Important Life Skills, Basic Education, Practical Education and Continuing Education.
It is noteworthy that during the Literacy Week, various activities were conducted every day in educational institutions as per the schedule. International Literacy Day will be organized on 08 September. On this day, literacy rally will be taken out in educational institutions. In this, morning Prabhat Pheri, literacy rally, cycle rally will be organized in all government-non-government schools and private educational institutions and at the end the message and slogan of literacy will be read.
