Raipur, 06 March 2021. Organized a state level monitoring committee to review the implementation of the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act 2006 and 2007 as amended 2012 at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan) here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain. was done. The meeting mainly focused on the progress of distribution of individual forest rights papers, distributed forest rights letters for community purposes, Development works done in the land were reviewed against community and individual forest rights. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to expedite the acceptance work of Forest Rights Recognition Cards for community purpose. Shri Jain has said that regular meeting of district and village level committee constituted for the process of distribution of Forest Rights Recognition Cards should be organized and action should be taken to dispose of the received applications. Shri Jain has also directed to create a website at the district level and update the list of forest rights recognition holders and the development work done on their land. He has also given instructions to plant fruitful trees as per requirement in the distributed lands for community purpose. Shri Jain has instructed the district collector and forest officials to jointly prepare an action plan for the plantation. Committee member MLA Kanker Shri Shishupal Sori has suggested to implement the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act in urban areas also and to manage the management of forest resources through Gram Sabha. Former MLA Katghora Mr. Bodharam Kanwar, a member of the committee, has suggested to expedite the disposal of applications received from community forestry letters all over Chhattisgarh at an accelerated pace.
In the meeting, Commissioner, Tribal Development Department, Ms. Shammi Abidi informed that till now, forest rights booklet (loan book) has been distributed to about two lakh 55 thousand accreditation holders. A total of three lakh 57 thousand 275.620 hectare land has been distributed, approving a total of four lakh 36 thousand 619 applications for individual forest rights recognition letters. In 44 thousand 938 cases of community forest rights papers, 16 lakh 93 thousand 556.928 hectare land has been distributed so far. So far, land leveling and meddling work has been done in 34 thousand 972.498 hectare area of 78 thousand 934 certificate holders. Similarly, assistance has been provided to 99 thousand 822 recognition holders for fertilizers and seeds and 08 thousand 525 beneficiaries for agricultural equipment. So far, 25 thousand 700 irrigation works have been done in the land distributed under the Forest Rights Act. Through which 15 thousand 812. Irrigation facility is being provided in an area of 54 hectares. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, 53 thousand 865 holders of recognition have been benefited.
In this meeting organized through video conferencing, the members of the committee were Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Shishupal Sori, former MLA Katghora Mr. Bodharam Kanwar, Secretary Tribal Development Department Mr. D.D. Singh, Secretary Forest Department Mr. Prem Kumar, Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Department Mr. R. Prasanna, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Representatives of Revenue Department were present.
