The state government has taken a new initiative to make people deprived of education literate in Chhattisgarh. Under the National Education Policy 2020, now alphabets and numerals will be taught through items used in everyday life like vegetables, grains, fruits, sand, ballast, wood and farm barns. Under the
direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the State Literacy Mission Authority and SCERT have taken this initiative forward. In the state level workshop organized under the ‘Ullas Navbharat Literacy Program’, special strategies were prepared to implement this program in the entire state. Representatives and subject experts from 33 districts participated in this workshop. The goal
is to make illiterate literate through Ullas Literacy Centers. Along with alphabets and numerals, life skills education will also be given in these centers. Efforts will be made to make classes more effective and enjoyable with games, songs and other interesting activities. The use of ‘Ullas Praveshika’, interesting methods of teaching, and the use of digital platforms such as Diksha portal and NCERT’s YouTube channel were also discussed in the workshop. There was also a discussion about using the Ullas app in teaching. Under this program, everyone was made to take a pledge to become teachers themselves and educate the illiterate.

Director of SCERT Shri Rajendra Katara, Additional Director J.P. Rath, Nodal Officer of ULLAAS Prashant Pandey, and other important officials along with representatives from all districts of the state were present in the workshop.
