Raipur: Initial preparations for Covid-19 vaccination started in Chhattisgarh: State Task Force Committee constituted for better interdepartmental coordination

Raipur. 4 November 2020. Initial preparations for Covid-19 vaccination have started in Chhattisgarh too. According to the instructions of the Government of India, a data base of health workers working in all government and private health institutions of the state is being prepared. This will be helpful in deciding the priority for data-base vaccination. The inclusion of names in the data-base does not mean that they will be compulsorily vaccinated. The decision in this regard will be taken by the Government of India.

Health Minister T.S. Singhdev said that the state has adequate arrangements for storage and maintenance of vaccines. 530 cold-chain (cold chain) points are currently operational for their safekeeping. Also 80 new cold-chain points are being started. He informed that at present the total retention capacity of vaccines in the state is one lakh five thousand liters, which is 60 thousand liters more than the requirement. A new walk-in-cooler has been provided to further strengthen this capability.

Officials of the Health Department informed that a State Task Force Committee has been constituted for better interdepartmental coordination for the preparation and smooth conduct of Kovid-19 vaccination. A state level steering committee is also being formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. Orders have been given for the formation of District Task Force Committee in all districts. The mission directors of the National Health Mission for Kovid-19 vaccination will be the State Nodal Officer and the State Immunization Officer will be the Assistant Nodal Officer. The Nodal Officer for the districts will be the concerned Collector and the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Assistant Nodal Officer. Further action will be taken as per the instructions received by the Government of India in this regard.
