Raipur 10 February 2022. Minister in-charge of Industries and Dantewada district, Shri Kawasi Lakhma paid tribute to the great heroes of the past, remembering them at Gadhmiri Gram Panchayat. Minister Shri Lakhma remembered the sacrifice of revolutionary martyr Veer Kawasi Roda Peda organized by Sarva Adivasi Samaj on the occasion of 112th anniversary of Bhumkal Memorial Day. He said that the great heroes of the tribal society also fought with their traditional weapons and were martyred while participating in the freedom struggle against the British. Shri Lakhma said that so far the names of 51 martyrs have been found in the government records during the Bhumkal movement. He first garlanded the statue of revolutionary Veer Kavasi Roda Peda in Gadhmiri and paid homage at the martyr site Gadhmiri along with service application, legal legislation.
Tribal society will carry forward the name of martyr Kawasi Roda Peda. The people of the society will decide the organization of Gram Panchayat Gadhmiri Bhumkal Memorial Day so that big events can be organized later. On this occasion, people of Dhurva, Koya, Gond, Muria, Bhatra, Halba, Mahara, Dhakad communities of the district and other communities gave their participation.
