Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh government’s ambitious Ram Vanagaman Tourism Circuit Scheme has given Chhattisgarh an indelible identity in the map of religious, cultural and tourism. It is a good fortune of Surguja that Lord Shri Ram spent almost two years of his fourteen years of exile among the forests and forest dwellers here. In the state, 10 places have been identified to bring alive the mythology of the footprints and halts of Lord Shri Ram, which includes Ramgarh of Surguja. Now, in this episode, Shri Ram Vatika and infrastructure development works are being inaugurated in Ramgarh on September 7, 2023, along with a grand Ramayana festival is being organized in Ambikapur city.
Shri Ram Vatika and infrastructure development works in Ramgarh on 7 September 2023 at 11 am under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Shri TS Singhdev, Chief Hospitality and Tourism and Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu and Food and Culture Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat under the Ram Van Tourism Circuit. It will be inaugurated and a grand Ramayana Mahotsav will be organized from 3 pm. Under Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit, various other construction works including Tourist Information Centre, Public Approach Road Development, Cottage or Dormitory have been done at a cost of Rs 6.76 crore.
Surguja will witness the supernatural festival of devotion to Lord Shriram in Ramayana Mahotsav, a
grand event of Ramayana Mahotsav will be held at PG College Ground, Ambikapur from 03.00 pm in the cultural program. In the Ramayana Mahotsav, the presentation of first place Ramayana troupe teams in the state level Ramayana troupe competition 2023 of Surguja, Balrampur and Surajpur district and the demo check for musical instruments will be provided to the Ramayana troupe who got first place in the block from the hands of the chief guest. Musical Ramkatha performance by Chhattisgarh artist Anurag Sharma and cultural performance by Reene Chandra Bollywood playback singer.
