Aluminum utensils weighing 1 quintal and Rs 3 lakh in cash recovered in two different vehicles at Transport Check Post Khamharpali.

In view of the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, a regular intensive checking campaign is being conducted at transport check posts to prevent misuse of goods being carried in vehicles. Under which, during the night investigation on October 19, 2023, 6 bundles of Rs 500 notes were caught carrying a total of Rs 3 lakh in a private vehicle OD-15-F-7092 by the team of Transport Department at Khamharpali check post in Mahasamund district. During investigation, driver Syed Shoaib Ali, resident of Mayabagicha, Sambalpur and his associate Mohd. Irfan resident of School Chowk, Pensionbada, Sambalpur did not give a satisfactory reply regarding the said amount. 
Similarly, during the investigation at Chhuipali under Khamharpali check post on October 19 at 10 am, an aluminum vessel weighing 99.6 kg was recovered from the vehicle number CG 06 GG 1308 of Shri Jyoti Prakash Aggarwal, resident of Basna, due to non-availability of valid documents. . 
In view of the possibility of misuse of the said amount and goods in the upcoming assembly elections, both the cases have been handed over to Police Station-Basna, District-Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh) for further action.

It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, the Transport Department is continuously carrying out intensive checking of vehicles and taking action.
