Workshop on Prevention of Human Trafficking (Anti Human Trafficking) organized in
Raipur, 08 August 2022Under the chairmanship of Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women, a public hearing was held on Monday in the Bemetara Collectorate meeting room. 16 different cases of the district were placed in the public hearing, out of which 13 cases were rejected. Member of the Commission, Mrs. Archana Upadhyay was also present in the public hearing. During the hearing of another case, there was a case of breach of privacy of women in the district hospital, in which the commission, taking suo motu cognizance, wrote a letter to the collector and after taking action, the case was disposed of. Along with this, discussions were also organized on the issue of anti-human trafficking, other stakeholders and rehabilitation of victims in the district.

In one case, due to the fact that the applicant could not tell the facts, the commission directed the District Protection Officer to go to the village of the applicant and submit the matter to the commission. The appellant Sarpanch told that the applicant has complained against him at many places, but today no document has been presented. On this, the commission, through the police, asked two people from both sides in the case and asked them to submit a report, on the basis of which a decision could be taken. Women District Women and Child Development Officer, Government Advocate were also present on this occasion.
