Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that Chhattisgarh will have to move towards white revolution along with green revolution in order to realize the vision of self-supporting village of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. He said that many schemes are being run by the state government to promote agriculture. The Chief Minister further said that due to the state government’s schemes to promote agriculture, the number of farmers and the area under cultivation has increased in the state. The number of farmers who have registered for the sale of paddy on support price has increased from 15 lakh to 22 lakh. Similarly, the area under cultivation has increased from 22 lakh hectare to about 28 lakh hectare. He said that the cattle farmers have got a big help from the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Today we are celebrating Govardhan Puja as Gauthan Diwas in the state. Chhattisgarh is the first state of the country, Who is buying cow dung from villagers and cattle farmers for two rupees a kg.
