Raipur, 23 September 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced to give tehsil status to Pipariya and Kukdur and Nagar Panchayat status to Indore and Kunda in Kabirdham district. The Chief Minister was discussing with the delegation from Kabirdham district at his residence office here tonight. On this occasion, he said that administrative units are being reorganized into smaller units for the convenience of the general public. Five new districts were formed in the state in just three years, due to which now the number of districts in Chhattisgarh has increased from 27 to 32. Similarly, the number of tehsils has increased from 147 to 222. With this, the villagers coming to the district or tehsil headquarters for their work will not need to stay there for the night. They will be able to return to their village the same day.
Regarding starting a medical college in Kawardha, the Chief Minister said that if new medical colleges are approved by the Centre, then a medical college would be started in Kawardha also. On the basis of the approval received from the Center this year, three medical colleges have been approved in the state at Kanker, Mahasamund and Korba. With this, Chandulal Chandrakar Medical College of Durg has been acquired. He said that along with Swami Atmanand English Medium School in Bodla, Hindi Medium School, which was already running there, would also operate there.
On this occasion, Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Pandaria MLA Mrs. Mamta Chandrakar, Manendragarh MLA Dr. Vinay Jaiswal, State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Girish Devangan, State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Mr. Ram Gopal Agrawal, Chhattisgarh State Text Book Corporation Many public representatives were present along with the President of Shri Shailesh Nitin Trivedi.
Addressing the delegation, the Chief Minister said that it is the endeavor of the State Government to increase the income of all sections including the poor, labourers, farmers, women and improve their standard of living. For this, many schemes have been started including Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, purchase of 52 minor forest produce at support price. Every effort is also being made to provide better opportunities for education, health and employment.
He said that in the past, an amount of Rs.40-40 thousand was given to Gauthan committees for infrastructure development. This year the amount will be given to the Gauthan committees even before the harvesting of paddy. With this amount, Gauthan committees will make arrangements to collect paras from farmers’ fields after harvesting paddy and keep them in Gauthans. So that arrangements for fodder can be made for the animals coming to the Gauthans. He said that Napier and other species of grass have been planted in an area of about 10 thousand acres in about 4 thousand Gauthans for animal feed. Similarly, grass has been planted in about one thousand hectares in the forests. The grass grown in the forests will be made into silage and kept in the cowsheds for animal feed.
