Governor and Chief Minister attended the fourth convocation ceremony of Shaheed Mahendra Karma University, Jagdalpur.

93 students were given gold medals, 43 students were given PhD and one honorary degree.

Facilities will be increased in the university with the grant of Rs 100 crore received under the central project “Meru”.

The fourth convocation ceremony of Shaheed Mahendra Karma University Bastar Jagdalpur was organized in the university campus under the chief hospitality of Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan. On this occasion, Governor and Chancellor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan said that higher education plays an important role in the overall development of the youth. It provides advanced knowledge, skills and opportunities for personal and professional development. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai was also present in the program.
    Gold medals were awarded to 93 students, PhD and an honorary degree were awarded to 43 students at the convocation.
    In his address at the function, Governor Shri Harichandan said that through higher education the youth acquire critical thinking abilities, creativity and moral values, which prepare them to face complex challenges. It opens doors to better career prospects, contributes to economic growth and develops strong leaders and active citizens in their communities. A literate youth represents the future of any society, state or country.
    He said that in areas like Bastar, the Government of Chhattisgarh especially expects the youth to actively participate in the socio-economic development of their communities while maintaining the values ​​of peace, harmony and progress. They are encouraged to engage in education and skills development initiatives to enhance employability and contribute to regional development.
Governor Shri Harichandan congratulated and congratulated the students and researchers who received degrees and gold medals.
    He said that Bastar is a land rich in natural abundance and vibrant cultural traditions. Nature has gifted Bastar with unmatched beauty. Its lush green forests, flowing rivers and mineral-rich soil are proof of its ecological richness. At the center of Bastar’s attraction lies its vibrant cultural mosaic. Tribes like Gond, Madiya and Muria have nurtured unique languages, customs and art forms. In Bastar, initiatives are being taken to promote sustainable development, cultural preservation and inclusive development by adopting modernity.
    Mr Harichandan said that with access to modern tools, platforms and resources, today’s youth have the potential to use technology and innovation to tackle pressing challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change and health care. He expressed happiness over the fact that the University has received approval for a grant of Rs 100 crore under the Central Project “Meru”, which will increase the facilities in the University, which also includes the running of many departments. He also expressed happiness over the active participation of the students of Shaheed Mahendra Karma University in the “Developed India”/2047 campaign. He said that this program is a platform to engage an entire generation towards achieving the goal of a fully developed India by 2047. Let us all continue to strive together towards building a progressive and inclusive India.
    In the programme, Vice Chancellor Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava presented the progress report of the university. Professor Ram Kumar Kakani, Director of Indian Institute of Management Raipur, delivered the convocation address.
    On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that Shaheed Mahendra Karma University has an important contribution in promoting higher education in Bastar region. All the graduate and post graduate students who have received education from the university will play an important role in the development of Bastar. At this function, he met 93 gold medal winning youth in the last two seasons, which includes 71 women. He said that the first priority of the government is the development of Bastar and Surguja. Tribal area also has to be taken forward in the race of development. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has started many schemes to bring these backward areas forward.
    Shri Sai said that it is very pleasant that daughters are studying in Bastar. There has been a positive change regarding education here. The state government and the central government have jointly given a grant of Rs 100 crore under the Meru scheme of the Prime Minister’s National Higher Education Campaign. This grant will usher in a new era of higher education in Bastar.
    He said that the university has been given approval to start 33 new courses in 20 new departments. There are many courses in these new courses which are very useful for the youth interested in entrepreneurship.
    On this occasion, Padmashree Dharampal Saini, Forest Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Jagdalpur MLA Mr. Kiran Dev, Commissioner Mr. Shyam Dhavde, IG Mr. Sundarraj P., Collector Mr. Vijay Dayaram K., Superintendent of Police Mr. Shalabh Sinha, Registrar Mr. Abhishek Kumar Bajpai and other distinguished guests. , Professors, faculty members and students of the university were present.
