Raipur: Important decision of Chhattisgarh Government: Over 58 lakh ration card holders families of the state will get 2 months free rice

Raipur 23 April 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced to give two months of rice free of cost to the families of Antyodaya, poor, destitute and priority category in view of the adverse situation arising due to the second wave of corona infection. Its beneficiaries will get 58 lakh 29 thousand 371 ration card holders in the state.
The government of Chhattisgarh will distribute 3 lakh 94 thousand 136 metric tonnes of rice free of cost for the quota of May and June. State government will bear the burden of subsidy expenditure on free rice distribution.

The food department has also issued an online allocation to the districts for distribution of free rice in the months of May and June. The number of priority category ration card holders in the state is 40 lakh 67 thousand 356, 14 lakh 6 thousand 490 of Antyodaya, 6 thousand 86 of Annapurna, 38 thousand 563 number of destitute card holders and 10 thousand 876 number of disabled card holders. The above ration card holders will be provided free rice in the month of May and June from the ration shops in the month of May.
