Bengali society has an important contribution in the development of Chhattisgarh. The Bengali community has been alert and aware since the beginning. The land of Bengal has been the land of revolutionaries and social reformers. Without them the freedom and innovation of the country cannot be imagined. The contribution of Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Subhash Chandra Bose cannot be forgotten. Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Swami Vivekananda are the best gifts of Bengal to the whole world. Saints of Bengal have also contributed significantly in the Bhakti movement of the country. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was addressing the centenary celebrations of Bengali New Year and Bilaspur Bengali Association organized at Kalibari Maidan in Bilaspur today. The Chief Minister prayed for the happiness, prosperity and prosperity of the people of the state by offering prayers to Maa Kali in Kalibari. Food and Culture Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat presided over the programme.
    Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel instructed the Collector to take action for allotting 7,000 and 5,000 square feet land in Mopka and Tifra to the Bengali community. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that Durga Puja and Ganesh Puja have become our cultural identity. Chhattisgarh has cultural relations with Bengal. Their culture also goes along with the people. Chhattisgarh has imbibed the culture of Bengal. The Chief Minister also recalled the visits of Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore to Chhattisgarh.

    Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that Swami Vivekananda spent maximum time in Chhattisgarh after Bengal. He spent two whole years in Chhattisgarh. The airport in Chhattisgarh has been named after Swami Vivekananda. The contribution made by Rabindranath Tagore to the society cannot be forgotten. Shri Rabindranath Tagore has also spent time in Chhattisgarh. He got his wife treated in undivided Bilaspur. Devashish Laltu Ghosh, general secretary of Bengali Association Bilaspur, gave the welcome address in the programme.
In the function, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel honored the great personalities of Chhattisgarh with the Chhattisgarh Ratna Award. These include Padma Vibhushan Pandwani singer Mrs. Teejan Bai, Justice Mr. Kishore Bhaduri, former member of NITI Aayog and economist Mr. Pranav Kumar Chattopadhyay. Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Rashmi Singh, MLA Mr. Shailesh Pandey, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Bilaspur Mr. Ramsharan Yadav, President of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mr. Atal Srivastava, President of District Cooperative Bank Bilaspur Mr. Pramod Nayak, Vice President of Arpa Development Authority Mr. Abhay Narayan at the Centenary Celebrations Rai, Mr. Vijay Kesharwani, Mr. Vijay Pandey, Ramakrishna Mission Koni’s saint Mr. Sewavratnand Maharaj, Mr. Ravighosh, officials of the Bengali society and a large number of people of the society were present. Cultural programs were also presented by the children in the function.
