Raipur 22 March 2021
Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, President of Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission, heard the cases in the meeting hall of Durg District Panchayat today. In today’s hearing, 24 cases were placed before the Commission, in which parties were present in 17 cases. Out of this, 7 episodes were suspended. Dr. Nayak heard the facts of the cases and the statements and opinions of both parties in the presence of the parties. They settled conciliatory cases with the consent of both parties. It was special in the cases presented in the fort that immediately after receiving the first notice of the commission, the non-resident people immediately compromised with the complainant women.
In one case, Aapika said that her husband is addicted to drugs and snatching money from their business and home, which makes her life difficult. On the initiative of the Commission, the husband agreed to undergo treatment for drug addiction. For this, the Commission gave 3 months time. The Commission directed that the husband will inform the applicant about being admitted to the de-addiction center and that the applicant can talk with the children during treatment. During this time, he will not go to the applicant’s home, work place nor will he bother her. The applicant will be able to file a written complaint and a divorce case against her husband in the police station for violating the instructions by the investigator. Similarly, in another case, a hearing was held in the case of rift between husband and wife in which the husband was allowed to pay Rs. 10 thousand per month to the applicant for maintenance, including the provision of a house on rent to live elsewhere.
