Raipur, 07 July 2021. Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel today made a virtual launch of the state-wide weight festival being celebrated by the Women and Child Development Department in Anganwadis from July 7 to 16, from his residence office in the capital Raipur. The weight of the children was also taken before the Chief Minister on this occasion. Shri Baghel said that if our children become strong, become strong, if the lack of blood in our daughters is removed, then Chhattisgarh will definitely become strong. The Chief Minister appealed to make all the children up to 5 years of age to be weighed compulsorily and evaluate their nutritional status and hemoglobin test of teenage girls.
On this occasion, Mr. Baghel also inquired about the benefits of children’s mothers in Anganwadi in the weight festival program organized at Birgaon in Dharsiwa block of Raipur district and Attari village in Patan district of Durg. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also discussed with Anganwadi worker Ms. Neelu Parganiha working in Birgaon of Dharsiwan block. When the Chief Minister inquired from the Anganwadi worker about their experience and the condition of malnutrition, he said that earlier there were 7 moderately malnourished children in his Anganwadi centre. Out of which 5 children have become normal now, 2 children are still moderately malnourished. He said that in the Anganwadi center, along with giving the benefit of Chief Minister Child Reference Scheme, ready-to-eat items and hot food are provided to the children. By visiting the homes of malnourished children, their parents are also given advice related to the food of the children. During the discussion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also met Mrs. Sangeeta Sahu, the mother of the child who recovered from malnutrition. When the Chief Minister inquired about the benefits received from the scheme, Mrs. Sahu said that her child was underweight due to malnutrition, but after getting information about the ready-to-eat material and its use by the Anganwadi worker, it has become normal. . MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma present in Birgaon informed that Women and Child Development Department and Anganwadi workers are doing better work. Weight and height measurements of 1 lakh 61 thousand 20 children will be taken in the festival. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that all the people’s representatives along with the Women and Child Development Department are working to make the campaign of weight festival and malnutrition free, the society is definitely getting its benefits.
