It has also been said in the issued instructions that apart from providing benefits of departmental schemes to the students studying in hostel-ashram schools, arrangements should be made for free food, pure drinking water, electricity, buildings, yoga, health check-up, tuition. Apart from this, all the students have also been asked to include millet in breakfast. The scheme of conducting state tour for the students studying in the hostel-ashram schools of Bastar and Surguja division should also be implemented. In the hostels-ashrams, instructions related to cleanliness and pictures of hand washing have been compulsorily asked to be marked on the walls. It should be made mandatory for the students to wash their hands with soap and wipe them with clean cloth before eating. Enlightening pictures, useful general knowledge, time-table and important telephone and mobile numbers of the officials associated with the hostel-ashram should be mentioned on the inner walls of the hostels.
Instructions have also been given to prepare a list of talented children of low income group from the schools after meeting with principals, principals and superintendents for admission in hostels-ashrams and to get them admission on priority basis as per rules. Students of class 11th and 12th should be given admission in pre-matric hostels on vacant seats as per rules. Girls hostel and ashram should have pucca building, residential house for superintendent, watchman and town soldier. If the superintendent’s residence is in the same building complex, separate exit door should be arranged for it. There should be proper arrangements for compound, electricity, drinking water and toilets in the building. Women town soldiers have been posted in girls’ hostels-ashrams, but in girls’ institutions where women town soldiers are not posted, there should be arrangements for women watchmen during the night.
