Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel in the conference of Superintendents of Police and Inspector General of Police today bluntly said that hookah bars should be completely banned in the state. Chief Minister Shri Baghel has directed to take strict action to check drug trade in the state. The Chief Minister said that intoxicants coming from other states should not enter Chhattisgarh. He said that not even a single ganja leaf should be allowed to enter Chhattisgarh from another state. Shri Baghel said that in sensitive matters like communal and conversion, police officers should take prompt action with caution and alertness and inform the general public about the real situation.

A conference of Superintendents of Police and Inspectors General of Police was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at New Circuit House Auditorium here today. Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Shri Subrata Sahu, Director General of Police Shri D.M. Awasthi, senior officials of Home Department and Deputy Secretary of Chief Minister’s Secretariat Ms. Soumya attended the conference. Chaurasia was present. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said in the conference that our government, administration and police have done unprecedented work during the COVID pandemic. Take quick action with caution and alertness

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel told the Superintendents of Police and Inspector General of Police that communal and chaotic elements are trying to give a big shape to small incidents. All the Superintendents of Police should identify them, develop their intelligence system because such incidents have a direct impact on the peace and order of the state and the image of the government. In such a case, the police officers should act with sensitivity, alertness and vigilance and inform the general public about the real situation. He said that the general public should have faith in the police. The Chief Minister said that at every level, the information system should be developed at the police station, sub-division, district and range level. The Superintendent of Police should form a special team of social media monitoring in every district to identify those spreading rumors on social media and take action.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that opportunistic elements spread rumours, misinformation and misleading news to take political advantage of small incidents, it is necessary to identify them and take action. Social media has become the biggest tool for spreading rumours. It is necessary to develop a strong intelligence system in social media as well. In the meeting, the officials said that there has been a 32 percent reduction in murder cases as compared to 2011 and 37 percent reduction in attempt to murder as compared to 2011.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed the IG-SPs to hold a meeting with the officers of the border states of Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for effective prevention of drug smuggling. So far 774 directors and office bearers of chit fund companies have been arrested in the state. Chief Minister Shri Baghel has directed all the SP-IGs to immediately arrest the remaining absconding directors and office bearers of the chit fund company. He has asked all the SPs to take action by fixing a time limit for this. The Chief Minister said that the Collector and the SP, in coordination with each other, should mark other properties of chit fund companies and take action to attach them immediately.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that field level officers (IGs/SPs) should meet general public, public representatives and media personnel every week. Take initiative to solve the problems of the people, provide benefits of various schemes of the government to the needy people. Connectivity of the police with the public is very important. He said that strictness in policing and human sensibilities should be reflected in conduct.
The Chief Minister said that women and children should have faith in the police. The government’s focus is on women’s safety. He said that a list of police officers and employees posted at one place for two and a half years should be prepared and they should be transferred to other places. Identify the police employees with whom the general public is angry, and transfer them to the IG. The officers of the field should come out in the field in the evening, this will increase the confidence of the public in the police. Mr. Baghel said that the traffic in the cities should be organized smoothly, keep this in mind. Review road accidents and try to reduce them seriously. He directed to complete the process of return of the cases registered against the tribals at the earliest.
