Excellence Investiture Ceremony and Farewell Ceremony of MLAs Held in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly

Governor Mr. Vishwabhushan Harichandan today attended the “Excellence Investiture Ceremony” organized by the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and the farewell ceremony organized for the MLAs of the fifth Assembly as the chief guest. On this occasion, Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Charandas Mahant, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdeo, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, Leader of Opposition Shri Narayan Chandel, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Shri Santram Netam and other cabinet ministers were present.
On this occasion, the Governor said that this tradition of honoring outstanding legislators and outstanding parliamentary journalists in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly is highly commendable. This inspires legislators and media persons to do better work.
In this program, Mrs. Sangeeta Sinha, MLA of the ruling party and Mrs. Ranjana Dipendra Sahu, MLA of the opposition, were awarded the Outstanding Legislator Award for the year 2022 and MLA Mr. Dharamjit Singh was awarded the Conscious Legislator Award of the fifth assembly. Mr. Rahul Jain of print media and Mr. Devvrat Bhagat of electronic media and Cameraman Rohit Srivastava were given the award of Best Parliamentary Journalist.
The chief guest of the program Mr. Harichandan said in his address that a strong legislature is the pillar of public interest, development and good governance. Elected public representatives get the best opportunity to serve the public, they also have the responsibility to work in the interest of the state and the citizens. Similarly, the media acts as a bridge between the legislature, the executive and the citizens. Media in Chhattisgarh through its various forms has not only made the general public aware, educated, but has also played an important role in the development of the state.
On this occasion, farewell was also given to the members of the fifth assembly. Governor Mr. Harichandan urged everyone to rise above their political commitments and always work for public interest and public welfare. He expressed happiness that the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly is counted among the best in the country. The sense of harmony and respect between the ruling party and the opposition in the Vidhansabha is definitely praiseworthy.
The Governor termed the functioning of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly with the help of modern information technology as an innovative initiative and said that more work needs to be done on serious issues like environment, climate change, global warming. The Governor told Prime Minister T.B. Under the Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, appeal to all to work on the target of eliminating TB from Chhattisgarh by the year 2025 with public participation.
Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly established many healthy traditions and rules
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said in his address that the last five years tenure of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly was very challenging. But the ruling party and the opposition together worked for the development of Chhattisgarh. This assembly has set new records of development. Even during the Kovid epidemic, the proceedings of the assembly continued following the Kovid protocol. In the tenure of the last 23 years, the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly has established many healthy traditions and rules. The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha has created many steps of development. Be it party or opposition or other party members, everyone’s aim is to work together for the development of Chhattisgarh. The ruling party brought many such proposals in the assembly which proved to be a milestone for the development of Chhattisgarh. The members of the opposition also played their important role in exposing the weaknesses of the ruling party.
Vidhansabha Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant said that in the last four and a half years Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha has done better work for the excellence of Chhattisgarh by preserving the parliamentary values. He said that there are 18 percent women legislators in this assembly. All the members of the Vidhansabha have considered public service as their goal and have contributed in fulfilling their parliamentary duties. All the members learned and strengthened parliamentary ethics, behavior and culture. Leader of Opposition Mr. Chandel also addressed the program. The vote of thanks was done by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey. Governor Shri Harichandan presented mementos to all the ministers including the Chief Minister. The governor was also honored by the assembly. The Governor released the book “Imprisonment Story of Indian Desh Bhakts” compiled by Pandit Umadatt Sharma and edited by Mr. Jhabramall Sharma.
On this occasion, Vidhansabha Deputy Speaker Mr. Santram Netam, former Vidhansabha Speaker Mr. Dharamlal Kaushik, present and former MLAs, MLAs, Secretary to the Governor Mr. Amrit Khalkho, Secretary to the Vidhansabha Mr. Dinesh Sharma, public representatives and invited guests were present in large numbers. On this occasion, a colorful cultural program was presented by the team of Rikhi Kshatriya.
