Raipur, 01 October 2020. The fight with senior journalist Mr. Kamal Shukla in Kanker will be investigated by a high-level committee of journalists. This instruction was given by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today during a discussion with the delegation of Press Club Raipur. A delegation of journalists led by Mr. Damu Ambedare, President of Press Club Raipur, met Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at his residence this evening.

Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister expressed sensitivity in all matters related to journalists and said that the state government is committed to protect the interests of journalists. As soon as they came to know about this incident, they immediately lodged an FIR against the culprits and directed strict action. Mr. Baghel also informed that if necessary after investigation, other sections of Indian Penal Code will be added. Giving information about the decisions of the state government in the interest of journalists during the discussion, he said that the work of giving preference to journalists at the development level, increase in the quota, increasing the amount in journalist honor fund from five thousand to ten thousand per month has been done. is. The framing of journalist security law is in the final stages. Suggestions on the draft law have been invited. Thereafter it will be implemented by finalizing it. 

The Board of Journalists, while appreciating the decisions taken by the state government in the interest of journalists, said that the Chief Minister himself is ready to go ahead and solve every problem of the journalists and also discuss the Kanker incident with the journalists themselves. In such a situation, there is no need to stage a sit-in by some journalists, but everyone should try to solve their problems together in the interest of the journalist. In the Corona transition, when journalists are getting pay cuts, their jobs are ending, There should be concerted efforts to resolve this. The delegation urged journalists to be given special exemption by the state government for construction of building in Kamal Vihar, on which the Chief Minister assured to consider it sympathetically. Similarly, the Chief Minister also drew attention to the difficulties faced in the application process of giving preference to the delegation. On which the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel gave instructions to Commissioner Public Relations Shri Taran Prakash Sinha for speedy redressal of those problems.
