Raipur, 26 February 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that till now the work of power generation has been done by the governments and big industrial houses. This myth is going to be broken in the state of Chhattisgarh. With the help of the state government, now the women of the village are going to become electricity producers. Rural women of self-help groups will generate electricity from the cow dung being purchased in the Gauthans of the state. For this, an MoU has been signed with the Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority for the transfer of Nisarguna, the modern technology of power generation from cow dung, from Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Trombay, Mumbai. Plants will be set up in Gauthans to produce electricity and bio-fuel from cow dung and agricultural waste.

Nisargruna technology will be used to make electricity from cow dung

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was addressing the MoU program for electricity generation and food irradiation project from cow dung at his residence office today. He said that in the last three years, Chhattisgarh has shown the way to the entire country by making rapid progress in the field of agriculture. For the betterment of agriculture and farmers, many new steps have been taken and new innovations have taken place. The success of Chhattisgarh government’s schemes for the development of agriculture sector is being discussed in the whole country today. In order to increase the income of farmers, emphasis has been laid on increasing the production and quality of crops and for value addition and their safe storage.

Expressing happiness over the agreement signed between the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT), Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and Chhattisgarh State Seed Agriculture Development Corporation for the establishment of Food Radiation Center in the state of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister said that through this modern technology, food items will be produced. This will help in preventing quick spoilage, especially in fruits, vegetables and pulses, and in getting better prices for the farmers. Agricultural produce and minor forest produce of Chhattisgarh will get market place and good price from the country and the world.

Congratulating and congratulating the scientists on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that they are constantly trying to solve the problems related to life. Referring to the global warming and environmental challenge before the country and the world, he said that since Vedic times, our tradition has been to take it from nature and then return it. In the last three years in the state of Chhattisgarh, we are carrying forward this tradition with strength. Through Godhan Nyay Yojana, we have started the tradition of Paradan. This has prevented stubble burning and carbon emissions in the fields.

The Chief Minister also mentioned about the efforts being made for the conservation of forests in Chhattisgarh and said that 44 percent of the state’s land area is forested. We have saved the forests, due to the large area of the state being forested, relatively development works are not done there. There is a problem in the establishment of big projects for development such as irrigation dams, industries, factories etc., but the state does not get any reimbursement for it, whereas Chhattisgarh supplies 16 percent oxygen to the country. The Chhattisgarh government is working in this direction, how to save nature and how to take advantage of it. He expressed hope that with the use of food radiation technology in the state, the income of farmers and forest dwellers will increase further.

Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Pradeep Sharma also addressed the program and said that on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Rural Industrial Parks are being set up rapidly in Gauthans of the State. Here technology is needed for better production and profit. The MoU with Bhabha Atomic Research Center will help in improving the rural economy. He said that Chhattisgarh is moving towards a golden future in the field of agriculture.

Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to sign a contract with Bhabha Atomic Research Center for technology transfer.

Atomic scientists praise Godhan Nyay scheme

On this occasion, BRC Director Dr. A.P. Tiwari, BRIT CEO Dr. Pradip Mukherjee gave detailed information about power generation and food radiation technology from cow dung. The scientists of Bhabha Atomic Research Center appreciated the Godhan Nyay Yojana of the Government of Chhattisgarh and said that through the Gauthan and Godhan Nyay Yojana, the Government of Chhattisgarh has fulfilled many objectives and has shown the way to solve many burning problems. Nuclear scientist Dr. A.P. Tiwari said that cow dung and garbage have become money in Chhattisgarh. This will produce methane gas and electrical energy. BARC Bio-Science Director Dr. Tapan Kumar Bell said that Chhattisgarh government is making good use of cow dung by buying it for Rs.

Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh uses radiation technology to increase the self-life of food products, protect and improve their quality. It is used to increase the self-life of horticultural crops including potatoes, onions, vegetables, pulses, ginger and spices. This will help in exporting the products of Chhattisgarh to America, Europe countries. He said that the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology would conduct research on the use of this technology to increase the self-life of special products of Chhattisgarh like Tamarind and Mahua. BRIT Along with giving technology to Chhattisgarh, people will be given training here. Certification of products processed with radiation technology will also be done. Secretary, Energy Department, Mr. Ankit Anand said that the MoU will encourage the production of bio-energy and this technology can also be given to the interested private entrepreneurs of the state.
