Raipur, 26 June 2021. Herbal products of Chhattisgarh are now available on the online platform Amazon.in under the brand name of ‘Chhattisgarh Herbals’. Many minor forest produce based consumer products manufactured by tribal women groups of forest dwelling areas of Chhattisgarh will now get a good market in the country and abroad. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today became the first customer of Chhattisgarh Herbals products on Amazon App. He placed an order on this app for ‘Van Honey’ prepared by women self-help groups. Many products like Forest Honey, Organic Bastar Cashew, Chironji, Mahua Laddu are now available on Amazon. Appreciating this initiative taken by Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that through Amazon, these products will get a bigger market and recognition across the country.
Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Shishupal Sori, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Principal Secretary Forest Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association Managing Director Mr. Sanjay Shukla were also present on the occasion.
Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association has recently collaborated with Amazon to encourage women entrepreneurs under their Saheli program. Saheli program is a commendable initiative of Amazon, under which a team provides special assistance and training for the products made by women entrepreneurs to increase their sales. Through these efforts of Minor Forest Produce Association, the products of women entrepreneurs will get a big market and they will get a long-term financial stability.
It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association has made continuous efforts for upliftment of about 13 lakh 50 thousand forest dwellers. Minor forest produce collected by the forest dwelling tribes is procured at minimum support price and converted into various consumer products at Van Dhan Vikas Kendras run by women self-help groups. The products made from these invaluable minor forest produce of the forests of Chhattisgarh are being made available in the market under the brand of ‘Chhattisgarh Herbals’. Many products like Van Honey, Organic Bastar Cashew, Chironji, Mahua Laddu will now be available on Amazon.
