Raipur, 02 September 2020. The entire September month will be observed as ‘Poshan Maah’ in the country. In this month, common people will be made aware of the importance of nutrition and critically malnourished children will be identified, referred and managed. During Poshan Maah, Health Department officials will join hands with Women and Child Development Department officials to organize various activities for creating public awareness on nutrition. Directorate of Health Services has issued instructions in the context to all the Chief Medical and Health Officers.
All the activities during Poshan Maah will be organized on digital platforms, while complying to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Meanwhile, Digital Poshan Panchayat, community sensitization through home visits and Village Health and Nutrition Day programme, public awareness on anaemia and diarrhoea and digital competition based on the topic of nutrition along with other nutrition related programmes will be organized and broadcasted. Activities organized in this month will be uploaded on the Dashboard portal of Government of India.
