Raipur: Health Minister Mr. Singhdev reviewed the system of corona vaccination, screening and treatment: asked to increase the number of RTPCR investigations, said instructions to restart Kovid Hospital

Raipur. 24 March 2021. Health Minister T.S. Singhdeo today reviewed the arrangements being made for corona vaccination and its control at the state-level Kovid-19 Command and Control Center. He directed to increase the number of RTPCR investigations in view of increasing cases of corona infection in the state. He asked Mana Kovid Hospital to be started soon for treatment of serious patients. Mr. Singhdev also instructed to speed up the corona vaccination. He called on an average of one lakh people per day to meet the target of getting vaccinated.

Health Minister Mr. Singhdev was in 17 days of home isolation till March 23 after being corona infected on 7 March. On the very first day today after the end of the Home Isolation period, he reviewed a marathon infection control system and the health department’s work. He reviewed and required the facilities available in Kovid Hospitals and Covid Care Centers, Home Isolation System, Departmental Recruitment, Promotion, Training, Family Welfare programs and functions of CGMSC (Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation) for the treatment of Corona Infections. gave instructions. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Mrs. Renu G. Pillai, Commissioner Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Director of Health Services,  Neeraj Bansod and Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Priyanka Shukla were also present in the meeting.

Health Minister Mr. Singhdev called for special emphasis on corona control in cities and districts with more traffic every day. In Rajnandgaon, Durg and Raipur districts, a large number of people come and go daily from or through Maharashtra. In these three districts, the number of corona infected is increasing rapidly. He directed to arrange adequate number of oxygen facilities, ICU and HDU beds to provide better treatment to the serious infected of Kovid-19.

It was informed in the meeting that 87 percent health workers have been given the first vaccine to protect against corona and 55 percent have been vaccinated in the state. At the same time, 82 percent of the frontline workers have been given the first and 39 percent its second dose. The first dose of corona vaccine has been applied to 5 lakh 54 thousand 934 citizens over 60 years of age and one lakh 40 thousand 524 comorbidity victims from 45 years to 59 years. Right now, corona vaccines are being installed in more than 1200 places across the state. These include 1069 government and 132 private sector hospitals.

Currently, the capacity of Kovid test is 40 thousand daily, including government and private sector. These include all three types of tests, RTPCR, TruNat and Rapid Antigen Test. During the last week from March 15 to March 21, an average of 35 thousand 984 samples have been tested every day. The number of investigations to identify more and more corona infectives is constantly increasing. On March 23, a total of 39 thousand 619 samples have been investigated. Currently, 16 thousand 383 beds are available in government and private hospitals and covid care centers in the state for the treatment of corona infections. These include 2621 oxygen facilities, 746 HDUs and 965 ICU beds.
