Out of these 14 hospitals got quality standard certification

State Government and Tata Trusts come together to strengthen urban primary health facilities

Completion of CINI’s model UPHC project in the state

State Government’s Health Department, National Health Mission and Tata Trust’s sister organization CINI (Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives) have jointly developed 23 urban primary health centers in the state as model Hummer hospitals. The local people are getting excellent health services from these model Hummer hospitals. Out of these 23, 14 Urban Primary Health Centers have been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The Tata Trust has also collaborated with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjivani Hospital in Nava Raipur for screening and treatment of children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease. One thousand children have been operated with the help of the trust. With the help of the trust, four cities Jagdalpur, Bilaspur, Screening centers for congenital heart diseases are also running in Rajnandgaon and Raipur. The closing ceremony of the Model Urban Primary Health Center run by CINI in Chhattisgarh and the CHD project of Tata Trust was organized today at a private hotel in Nava Raipur. The staff working in all 23 model Hummer hospitals were felicitated in the programme. A panel discussion on ‘Primary Health Care among Urban Population’ along with a workshop on ‘Workplace Happiness’ for the hospital staff was also organized during this period. A booklet based on the Adarsh ​​Humar Hospital Project in Chhattisgarh prepared by CINI was also released in the programme.

The Model Urban Primary Health Center project was being run by the Tata Trusts in partnership with the state government under the Chhattisgarh Health Systems Strengthening Initiative from the year 2019. Under this, child-friendly model vaccination rooms, patient-centered health centers, use of digital technologies, pharmacy strengthening, in 23 urban primary health centers of the state. It has been developed as a model Hummer hospital by increasing the number of tests and medicines and by increasing the efficiency of the staff working there. Other urban primary health centers of the state will also be developed as model Humar hospitals on the same lines. Tata Trusts has also partnered with Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital for early detection and treatment of congenital heart diseases (CHD), as part of its commitment to make healthcare accessible to all.

Director of National Health Mission Mr. Bhoskar Vilas Sandipan while addressing the closing program of the project said that we have to provide good health facilities in both rural and urban areas. Health is everyone’s priority area. Congratulating the staff for providing excellent health services in Model Humar Hospitals, he said that you will improve the services of other health centers with the feedback of the people. Your input is needed for this. He thanked Tata Trust and CINI for their cooperation in strengthening the primary health services in the state.

Dr. Sita Ram Budaraju, Senior Health Advisor, Tata Trusts said at the event that we strive to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable, especially to underprivileged communities. With this objective we are working with the Government of Chhattisgarh since last few years. Actions like network of 23 model Humar hospitals in the state, digitization and proactive monitoring for quality control have made this pilot project a success. We hope that this initiative of ours will be helpful in increasing the quality of service by increasing the capacity of frontline health workers and providing better health facilities to the people through new technology.

Out of these, Bhanpuri, Bhathagaon, Rajatalab, Amasivani, Mathpuraina, Hirapur Urban Primary Health Center, Charoda Urban Primary Health Center, Budha Mahadev Urban Primary Health Center Kabirdham, Bilaspur’s Gandhi Chowk and Rajkishore Nagar Urban Primary Health Center have been approved by the Union Health Ministry. Nawapara Urban Primary Health Center Ambikapur, Dhodhipara and Gopalpur Urban Primary Health Center of Korba and Shri Ram Nagar Urban Primary Health Center Kanker have been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate.
