Raipur, 31 December 2020. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme has filled the lives of many families with light. Out of these, there is also the family of Mr. Shivbhajan, a farmer of village Gudumdevari in Gorela-Pandra-Marwahi district. From the MGNREGA, green fields have come in the dry fields of Shri Shiv Bhajan. The government sanctioned two lakh 48 thousand rupees for the construction of a well in their unirrigated land. Now the well made in his field is filled with ten feet of water.
Earlier, Shri Shivbhajan used to take care of his family by working as a laborer in MNREGA and elsewhere. Due to which there was no improvement in their economic condition. Shri Shivbhajan had 1.8 acres of agricultural land, but crops were not produced due to lack of irrigation facilities. Due to weak economic condition, Mr. Shivbhajan was not in a position to do any business. During this time he got information from the sarpanch of the village and employment assistant to construct the well in the field under MNREGA. On getting the information, he applied for the construction of a well in his unirrigated land. In the year 2018-19, approval was granted for construction of a well on his land. Earlier, due to lack of irrigation, their land remained empty most of the time. After the construction of the well, the paddy crop in his land has started to flow. Their income is also getting better with this. Along with the paddy they are cabbage, tomato, Vegetables like Bhata are also grown. This gives them additional income. The living standards of his family have improved with the formation of a well in Mr. Shivbhajan’s farm. Now his family is leading a happy life.
