For the first time in Chhattisgarh, a grand ‘National Ramayana Festival’ is being organized. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate it on June 01 at 3 pm at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Raigarh. Devotional presentation on Ramkatha will be given by Ramayana troupes from Cambodia and Indonesia including 12 states of the country in this national festival. In the presentation of these Ramayana parties, a glimpse of the diverse national-global forms of Ramkatha of the omnipresent Lord Shriram will be seen. Competition of Ramayana parties will be organized daily on the Aranya Kand of Ramayana. Along with this, nationally renowned artists will give their musical presentation in Bhajan Sandhya. Ramkatha’s uninterrupted sentiment will flow for three days in Ramlila Maidan. In this national festival, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Assam, Goa, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Ramayana teams from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are participating. On the last day of the National Ramayana Festival, eminent Hindi poet Kumar Vishwas will extol the glory of Lord Shri Ram through his special performance ‘Apne-Apne Ram Music Night’.
There will be mass recitation of Hanuman Chalisa by pundits, priests and local artistes at the launch ceremony of the National Ramayana Festival. Along with this, attractive march past will be done by foreign and interstate artists invited to Chhattisgarh. Culture Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat will preside over the inauguration ceremony of “National Ramayana Festival”. On this occasion, School Education Minister and in-charge of Raigarh district Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Umesh Patel, MLA Mr. Laljit Singh Rathia, Mr. Prakash Nayak, Mr. Chakradhar Singh, President of District Panchayat Raigarh Mr. Nirakar Patel, The Mayor of Municipal Corporation Mrs. Janki Katju will be present as a special guest.
Day 1 highlight: Performance by Cambodian Ramayana troupe
Jasgeet singer Devesh Sharma will perform on the first day of the event from 2 pm to 3 pm. From 4.30 pm to 5.00 pm there will be a performance by the Cambodian contingent. After this, at 5.15 pm, a competition based on Aranya Kand will be organized among inter-state Ramayana troupes, in which teams from Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh will participate. Bhajans will be presented by renowned national artist Sanmukh Priya (Indian Idol) from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm and by renowned national artist Sharad Sharma (Sa Re Ga Ma) from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm.
Highlight of Day 2: Performance by Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakkha
The stage program of the second day of National Ramayana Festival will start from 2 pm, Culture Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat will be the chief guest of the program and School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam will preside over the program. There will be group recitation of Hanuman Chalisa at 2.15 pm in the program and teams from 8 states Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Chhattisgarh will participate in the Aranya Kand based competition organized from 2.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Renowned national artist Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakkha will present bhajans from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm in Bhajan Sandhya from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
Day 3 highlight: Performance by Indonesian Ramayana troupe
On the third day of the National Ramayana Festival, the closing ceremony will be organized under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Culture Minister Amarjit Bhagat will preside over the programme. On the third day of the festival, from 2 pm to 6 pm, a competition based on Aranyakaand will be organized, in which teams from 4 states Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh will participate. From 6 pm to 6.30 pm there will be a performance by the Cambodian troupe. Kelo Mahaarti will be organized from 6.30 pm till 7 pm, in which women self-help group sisters will donate lamps with cow dung lamps. The stage program will start from 7 pm, in which Hanuman Chalisa will be recited collectively. The closing ceremony of the National Ramayana Festival will be held from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Prizes will be distributed to the winning teams. Along with this, foreign artists and judges of the competition will also be honored. There will be performances by the winning teams and foreign artistes on the occasion. The Indonesian team will perform from 8.30 pm to 9 pm. Renowned national artist Maithili Thakur will perform ‘Apne-Apne Ram Music Night’ by renowned national artist Kumar Vishwas from 9.30 pm to 10.00 pm in Bhajan Sandhya.
Chhattisgarh’s folk singer Shri Dilip Shadangi along with his team will recite Hanuman Chalisa on all the three days of the festival. Along with this, Bhajan evening will be organized every night, in which well-known artists of the country will give their performances.
