Raipur, 30 September 2020. Chhattisgarh State Scheduled Tribes Commission (Amendment) Bill-2020 was signed by Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike today. Accordingly, six non-government members who have special knowledge in matters related to Scheduled Tribes, one of which will be the Chairman (Chairperson) and one Vice-Chairman (Vice Chairperson), who will be appointed by the State Government. But at least four members, including the Chairman (Chairperson), the Vice-Chairman (Vice Chairperson), will be from the scheduled tribes. This is an amendment of section 3 of the Act.
The Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and each member shall hold office for the State Government from the date on which he assumes office. This is an amendment of Section 4 of the Chhattisgarh State Scheduled Tribes Commission Act. It will extend over the entire state of Chhattisgarh and will come into force from the date of its publication in the Gazette.
