Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan today attended a program organized by the Indian Red Cross Society at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee University campus in Bilaspur. On this occasion, the Governor inaugurated three wards of the district hospital, HDU, Children Ward and NRC, equipped by the Indian Red Cross Society, Bilaspur. Collector Mr. Saurabh Kumar presented a check of about Rs. 1 lakh 95 thousand towards the state contribution of Bilaspur district to Governor Mr. Harichandan. The Governor appreciated the work being done by the Red Cross Society in the health and social sectors.
The Governor also honored the employees of Jan Aushadhi Kendra Sims, Nikshay Mitras who adopted a TB patient and five voluntary blood donors for receiving the Best Jan Aushadhi Kendra award in the year 2023. The Governor also visited the health camp and blood donation camp organized by the Indian Red Cross Society.
It is notable that the HDU, Children’s Ward and NRC Ward of Bilaspur District Hospital have been adopted by the Indian Red Cross Society and equipped in such a way that the children admitted there for treatment can get a home-like environment there. AC in all the three wards by the society. And Smart TV has been installed.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee University Shri A.D.N. Vajpayee, President of Indian Red Cross Society Chhattisgarh Mr. Ashok Agarwal, Collector and President of Red Cross Society Bilaspur Mr. Saurabh Kumar were present.
