Governor Shri Raman Deka, during his visit to Balod today, visited the exhibition based on the departmental activities of the district in the public darshan room of the joint district office. During this, Shri Deka encouraged the excellent players who brought laurels to the district in sports activities by talking to them. Governor Shri Deka congratulated and wished the players of the district on this important achievement. He asked them to achieve success in the field of sports with hard work and dedication and bring laurels to the district, state and country. On this occasion, Governor Shri Deka, on behalf of the Social Welfare Department, provided electric wheel chairs to Divyang Shri Pusauram Sahu, resident of Tekapar and Smt. Purnita Alendra, resident of Borid.
Governor Shri Deka interacted with farmer Shri Dhruvram Sahu of Sanoud, who has grown pulses and oilseeds instead of paddy by changing the crop cycle under Jal Jatan Yojana being run in the district. Farmer Dhruvram Sahu informed the Governor that when he came to know about the loss due to paddy cultivation in the Chaupal organized by the District Administration and Agriculture Department, he changed his mind and this year he has grown gram in 05 acres and maize in 05 acres instead of paddy, which has proved beneficial for him. Along with this, active women of the self-help group, Smt. Asha Sagar and Jyoti Sahu informed that all those women are going from village to village and advising people to save water. During this, he discussed with Siddhi Self Help Group, Jai Maa Pahadon Wali Self Help Group, Navdeep Self Help Group, Bank Sakhi Smt. Malti Sahu and other women and inquired about the work being done by them and the income generated from it. On this occasion, the women of the self-help group presented the material prepared by the group to Governor Shri Deka. Governor Mr. Deka also presented a cheque of Rs. 2.5 lakh under the departmental scheme to Mr. Rajendra Yadav and his wife who had an inter-caste marriage. On this occasion, IG Mr. Ramgopal Garg, Collector Mr. Indrajit Singh Chandrawal, Superintendent of Police Mr. S.R. Bhagat and other district level officers were present.
