Fully equipped stadium to be built in 1.44 hectares

Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey, during her stay at Ujjain, performed Bhoomipujan of Dussehra Maidan Stadium, proposed by the Municipal Corporation, Ujjain, and greeted the residents on the commencement of this much-awaited construction. Addressing the foundation stone laying program, Governor Ms. Uike congratulated the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Municipal Corporation Ujjain for this meaningful initiative. The Governor said that the construction of the stadium would not only help in enhancing the sports capability of the youth but would also become a great center of solidarity of the players and sports lovers. He said that it is very important to have a dedicated space for sports like other necessary infrastructure in the city. For the residents of Ujjain, the stadium will remove this shortcoming.
Governor Ms. Uike said that this place will become a center of entertainment for children, young students and sports lovers. Along with this, players will be able to utilize their energy in improving their sports talent and ability through continuous practice.
He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has included sports in the priorities of governance. For this, along with the development of infrastructure, excellent facilities are being provided to the players. Due to the decisions taken in the interest of the game and the players, in the last few years, many players of India have achieved success in prestigious competitions of international level. The Khelo India initiative has given Indian youth a new platform to showcase their sporting talent over the years.
Governor Ms. Uike said that I always interact with the youth and tell them that their energy is the biggest strength of the country. In whatever field the youth work, they should use their energy properly in the interest of the nation and this is also applicable for the sportspersons. When the players work to establish the country at the international level by performing their best, then the country gets a new identity. There is no lack of potential in the youth of India, we just need to create more and more opportunities and connect the youth with them. She said that I feel extremely proud, When our daughters come after winning medals or any international competition for the country. Therefore, we have to bridge the gap between sons and daughters in the field of sports and provide them equal opportunities. Governor Ms. Uikey said that I deeply appreciate the historic decision taken recently to give match fees to women cricketers at par with men’s cricket players. We have to remove the inequalities in every way, if the talents of the daughters get an opportunity, they will always make the society and the country proud.
During this, the Governor also mentioned the golden history of Ujjain and again ended his address by giving best wishes for the stadium.
On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Ujjain Lok Sabha MP Mr. Anil Firojia, MLA of Ujjain Mr. Paras Jain, Mayor of Ujjain Municipal Corporation Mr. Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Commissioner and a large number of citizens were present.
