Raipur: Governor invited for Gondwana Cup All India Tennis Tournament ceremony

Raipur, 19 February 2021. The delegation led by Chhattisgarh Pradesh Tennis Association General Secretary Mr. Gurucharan Singh Hora met the Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike today at Raj Bhavan here. He handed over the letter to the Governor to be nominated as the patron of the State Tennis Association. He also invited the Governor for the Gondwana Cup All India Tennis Tournament.
Mr. Hora stated that the Gondwana Cup was started in the year 1937-38 and the first event was held at Union Club, the competition was the largest invitation competition in Central India. The competition continued until 1990 after a brief break. In 2011, the Gondwana Cup All India Tennis Tournament started with a prize money of 5 lakh. In the year 2013, it was decided to internationalize the format of Gondwana Cup by Chhattisgarh Tennis Association and Gondwana Cup ITF. Future Mains started with a 10 thousand US dollar amount. In the year 2016, it was made an all-India level competition so that the tennis players of the country could get maximum benefit. For this, the prize money of the competition was Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh, which is the highest prize money of the competition of Mains at the national level. Was a competition of
