Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel announced to develop Government Nagarjuna Post Graduate Science College Raipur as ‘Chhattisgarh Institute of Science’. In the ‘Diamond Jubilee Celebrations’ of this college, the Chief Minister announced on the request of the students and the principal of the college that debt to parents, motherland and gurus cannot be repaid. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Mr. Baghel himself has been a student of this college. He said that every possible effort will be made from the state government level to develop this college as ‘Chhattisgarh Institute of Science’. He also announced the establishment of an e-library in this college on the demand of the students.

The Chief Minister also said that today the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the college is being organized in this auditorium, this auditorium is named after Pandit Deendayal ji, since the land for it was given from the Science College, hence the name of the auditorium is Government Nagarjuna Post Graduate Science College. The name of the college will also be included.
Former student of this college and currently Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Dewangan, Padma Shri awardee Dr. A.T.K. Dabke, a student of the first batch of the college in the year 1948, Dr. R.S. Mr. Vidya Bhushan Shukla, Mr. Anil Pusadkar, Mr. Anjay Shukla along with Gupta were also present in the ceremony as special guests.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Diamond Jubilee celebrations by garlanding the portrait of Maa Saraswati. At the beginning of the function, the girl students of the college sang the state song ‘Arpa pari ke dhar…..’. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, while remembering his college-time classmates at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, called out the names of the colleagues present in the program and narrated interesting memories related to them. He said that some friends drop out in school and some get separated in college. But sometimes at some point of life, when I meet him, I get immense happiness.
Addressing the present students of the college, the Chief Minister said that the country and the state have great expectations from you, you may touch more heights than us, the students of this college have brought glory to the name of this college by achieving excellence in every field. Time spent in is very important time of life. In this period, we weave our dreams, we try to fulfill them. The Chief Minister said that I have full hope that our present generation will do better work than us. He told the students that the experiences of student life should be cherished.
The Chief Minister said that this college has been the most beautiful campus of Central India for 75 years, 2955 students are studying here. Being a student of this college, I will definitely do whatever I can in future.
Inspiring engagement of senior students
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that I feel proud when I see who all have passed out from here. He Dr. Dabke and Dr.R.S. Expressing gratitude towards Gupta, he said that even at this stage of his age, his association with his college is inspiring. The Chief Minister said that when I see my friends in government service retiring, I feel as if I too have become a senior citizen. The Chief Minister jokingly said that he meets the people of the new generation, so it seems that he is still young. The students who came out of this college have been president of student union, police officers, in forest department, in bank, IAS, IPS and they have brought laurels to this college. The welcome speech was given by Mr. Anil Pusadkar, Alumni Coordinator of Science College. College Principal Dr. P.C. Choubey initially informed about the achievements of the college.
