Raipur : Government employees with fake caste certificate to be terminated

General Administration Department has started acting upon the instructions of Chief Minister

Raipur, 12 November 2020. Government employees working on the basis of fake caste certificate under Chhattisgarh Government will be dismissed from service. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to dismiss the government employees holding fake, false caste certificates, who have not received a stay order from the court. Mr. Baghel said that the advocate general of Chhattisgarh High Court will be requested for early hearing in all the cases with postponement order. Employees whose caste certificates are found to be fake will be immediately terminated from their posts. All such cases should be reviewed department-wise by the General Administration Department.

According to the information received by the General Administration Department, a total of 758 cases of fake, false caste certificates were received by the High Level Certification, Investigation Committee Raipur from the year 2000 to 2020, out of which 659 cases have been resolved after investigation. In the remaining 267 cases, caste certificates have been found fake and have been sent to the concerned departments for action. Most of these cases are pending before the High Court or adjournment orders. In the last two years, 75 cases have been found to be fake, false. Even after receiving the adjournment order from the High Court in these cases, many officers and employees are still working in important posts.

Among the departments whose officers, employees’ caste certificates have been found to be false by the High Level Certification Scrutiny Committee, 14 are of General Administration Department, 8 cases are of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Department, 7 of Revenue Department, Public Health, 9 of Family Welfare and Medical Education Department, 8 of Public Health Engineering Department, 4 of Women and Child Development Department, 14 of Water Resources Department, 1 of Social Welfare Department, 15 of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, 1 of Commercial Tax Department, 7 of Home Department, 12 of Village Industries Department, 7 of Energy Department , 4 of Commerce and Industry Department , Skill Development, 5 cases are of Technical Education and Employment Department , 3 of Higher Education Department , 14 Agriculture Department, five cases of Urban Administration Department and five of Forest Department, three are of Cooperative Department, two cases each of Public Works Department and Planning Economic and Statistics Department, six cases are of Livestock Department and six of Fisheries Department, one of Sports and Youth Welfare Department , 44 School Education Department, and one case each of Chief Electoral Officer Office, Public Relations Department, Housing and Environment Department one each Includes episode.
