Raipur 09 December 2020. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain today inquired about the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Gauthan and Bari program conducted by the Department of Agriculture at Mantri Mahanadi Bhavan here. The Chief Secretary has instructed to set a fixed set of standards and time-frame for developing Gothans as model centers, on the basis of which district-wise Gothanas can be reviewed. In the meeting, instructions have been given to compile information about fodder for animals through para-donations in the Gothans of the state. Mr. Jain has given quantity of vermi compost made from cow dung purchased under Godan Nyaya Yojana, Instructions have been given to compile detailed information of its sales and distribution to the groups. He has said that the process of geotagging of Gothans of the state will be started soon. All necessary actions for this should be ensured. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to fix a fixed rate for the sale of vermi compost (dung manure) manufactured by the Gauthan Committee and to get its approval in the cabinet meeting. Shri Jain has instructed to ensure the use of fruits, vegetables etc. in schools, ashrams, anganwadi centers, jails, hostels etc. in individual and community enclosures.
Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Dr. M. Geeta informed in the meeting that as on 30 November 2020, a total of 6377 Gauthans have been created in the state. A total of 2 lakh 14 thousand 201 cattle herders have been registered for cow dung procurement. As on 30 November 2020, a total of 29 lakh 53 thousand quintal dung has been purchased from these cattlemen and an amount of Rs 59 crore 8 lakh is being distributed in installments to these cattlemen. 14 thousand 398 quintal of fertilizer has been manufactured in 49 thousand 564 vermi compost tanks manufactured across the state. Horticulture, Agriculture, Forest, Urban Administration, The cow dung manure manufactured by the farmers in the Gothan Samiti is being procured. This process continues unabated. So far, 39 thousand 449 quintals of fodder in the Gothans of the state have been received through para donations. Similarly, 3429 kg of ajola has been produced so far in 1229 Gothanas. The production of protein-rich fodder azola is to be done in all Gothanas of the state. Dr. Geeta informed that the seeds of mango, guava, banana, papaya, lime, lady finger, barbatti, sour lemon, lady’s finger, jambica, khata bhaji, kheda bhaji, kanda bhaji, jimikand, gourd, munga etc. for production in more than two lakh enclosures in the state so far Has been distributed. The process of production from enclosures has started. A target has been set to make one lakh new enclosures in the financial year 2021-22. Other senior officials of the Agriculture Department were present in the meeting.
