Raipur, 22 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that Godhan Nyay Yojana of Chhattisgarh Government has been accepted as a model scheme in the whole country. This time on the occasion of Republic Day, people of the country and the world will see the tableau of Godhan Nyay Yojana at Rajpath in New Delhi. The Chief Minister said that this scheme is being operated as a mission in the state of Chhattisgarh. Rural Industrial Parks are being developed rapidly here with the aim of increasing the means of livelihood in the Gauthans established in the villages. Now the work of setting up oil mill and pulse mill has been started in Gauthan. In the first phase, oil mills are being established in 148 Gauthans and Dal Mills in 188 Gauthans of the State. This will encourage income oriented activities in Gauthans.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the money transfer program of Godhan Nyay Yojana organized at his residence office today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister made online payment of Rs. 4 crore 21 lakh to cattle rearing villagers, Gauthan committees and women self-help groups associated with Gauthans, out of which Rs. 2 crore 76 lakh was given to Gauthan committees in lieu of purchase of cow dung in the last fortnight. 87 lakhs and a dividend amount of Rs.58 lakhs to women self-help groups. So far, 122 crore 17 lakh rupees have been made to the cow farmers in lieu of the purchase of cow dung. A dividend amount of Rs 45.31 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and Rs 29.46 crore to women self-help groups.
The Chief Minister said that by promoting the use of organic manure through Godhan Nyay Yojana, it has helped in reducing the cost of agriculture in the state. Crop diversification is also being encouraged and processing of agricultural produce is being arranged in Gauthans. This will increase the income of the farmers. He appreciated the women self-help groups engaged in preparing vermicompost, super compost and other products from cow dung and said that our women sisters have so far produced more than 10.38 lakh quintals of vermi compost and more than 4.36 lakh quintals of super compost manure. Which has given a boost to organic farming in the state and has also helped in meeting the shortage of chemical fertilizers. He said that our women sisters have earned an income of Rs 50 crore 57 lakh so far by adopting various income generation activities in Gauthans. This has instilled a new confidence in women’s groups towards self-reliance.
At the beginning of the program, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh gave detailed information about the progress of Godhan Nyay Yojana. He said that so far 10591 Gauthans have been approved in the state, out of which 7,933 are fully operational. So far, 61.07 lakh quintals of cow dung has been purchased in Gauthans under Godhan Nyay Yojana. He gave information about the production, sale and other income oriented activities of vermi compost in Gauthans. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Subrata Sahu, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, State Nodal Officer of Godhan Nyay Yojana, Dr. S. Bharathidasan, Director Horticulture Shri Matheswaran V. Joint Secretary Agriculture Shri K.C. Paikra and other officials were present.
